Affordable + Unique Gift Ideas for the Holidays!

Hello everyone! Welcome back to Sprinkles and Seams, and I'm Sprinkles, your host for this week's blog post! I don't know, but I feel like I need a certain opening for each blog post? Am I right? No, okay, whatever, moving on.

So, it's the Holiday season, which means a lot of things. One of those things - GIFT GIVING! I personally love picking out gifts I know the person will love, as much as I love opening them. I know today most people want the iPhone 6s, or a hoverboard, or some sort of Black Ops, Call of Duty XBOX game. But, not everybody has 1,000 sitting around in their pockets, waiting to be spent of expensive gifts.

So, I've come up with a list of many, affordable and unique gifts that people actually want! I'm going to have different categories - brother, sister, father, mother, aunt/uncle, boyfriend/girlfriend, and I'll place a few items into each category that they fit in! I'm going to do a separate post for my Christmas Wishlist, and that will work as gifts for teenagers as well!

Please note that this post is not sponsered by ANY company, and all thoughts and opinions are strictly my own!

GIFTS FOR AN OLDER SIBLING:

Alright, so gifts for an older sibling are often hard to get or think of. I know most people would think of boring expensive things like DVD players, a new laptop and lots more, but I've got just the present they'll want!

A WATCH:

Watches are seriously so underrated these days. You're probably thinking: "Sprinkles, we have phones, we can check the time on our phones, duh!" Well, that is true. Personally, I prefer a cute watch to checking the time on my phone, I don't know, maybe I'm just too old-fashioned. But watches are super cute, pretty affordable, and they'll always be on your wrist, so you probably won't lose them. You can also personanlize watches!

Let's say your older sibling is in high school, and they don't allow phones in class, this way, your older sibling can check the time, and always be on time. I think this is the perfect gift for an older sibling attending high/middle school, college or even work!

If you're looking for super cheap watches, check out rosegal.com. They have tons of watches around $4-10 dollars and they come in many different designs with clock hands, or just digital!
If you are looking for another option, Urban Outfitters has a lot of pricier options, but they are super unique and will last along time.

A NOTEBOOK/PLANNER:

Everybody loves adorable notebooks and planners! And these are one of the basic of the most basic gifts for older siblings. Everybody likes journals, notebooks, planners and agendas.

Kate Spade has plenty of super cute notebooks for around $10, and these are perfect for an older sister, especially one that loves classy new trends, and durable, shiny notebooks! Everybody loves Kate Spade, seriously, it's the perfect things.

Papersource.com has many, many different journals and agendas to choose from, and they are all around the price of $15, not too pricey, eh? Paper Source also has tons of different things from expensive brands, but for a more affordable price.

Maydesigns.com also has plenty of cute notebooks for men and women, each with customizations, and little ways to make them personal! These are also all around $10-15 dollars. The best part about May Designs, is that you can choose a design for the notebook, and then you get to choose what the inside has. You can choose a calendar, lines, graph, children's coloring book, and much more! I actually asked for a plain notebook for Christmas! You can also monogram them.

GIFTS FOR A YOUNGER SIBLING:

Younger siblings are often hard to get gifts for. Whether you have a toddler or a teenager as a younger sibling, these are some affordable gift ideas that will work for all ages!

CUSTOMIZED T-SHIRT:

Customized t-shirts are the perfect simple gift for anybody, but with little siblings, these are an absolute favorite! Whether your sibling is into Thomas the Tank, or maybe even a huge Taylor Swift fan, these t-shirts come with NO limits.

All you have to do is buy some iron on transfer papers, I recommend the ones for light cloth. Then, depending on which kind you bought (for light clothing or for dark) you pick out a shirt/sweatshirt or even a cloth bag. You can then print out an image (make sure it's flipped backwards so the type is backwards) on the iron on transfer paper. Then you can cut it out close to the edges of the image/type and just iron it onto the clothing. Type is rather hard to cut around, but it's still an option!

This is great for recreating expensive items in stores for cheap! Here are some examples of things you could recreate for less money!

I really like this idea, and it doesn't only have to be for young children, teenagers and adults will love this present too. My last tip: choose an image that means something to your gift receiver (not a logo, or photo of yourself) maybe a character from their favorite book/T.V. show, or actor, or maybe even a brand label.

COLORING BOOK:

You're probably thinking: "Hey Sprinkles, sure some people have 5 year old younger siblings who love to color, but my younger sibling is 12. Not exactly coloring book type, huh?"

Well, you may think that. So, if your sibling is young enough for those Disney Color in the Lines book, good for you! But, if they're older, and they like to draw/doodle, I still have the perfect gift for you!

Shops like Barnes and Noble and other bookstores have tons of super cute coloring books, for teens and even adults. These coloring books are based off of classic books. They have Harry Potter: The Coloring Book, with illustrations following the famous series. They also have ones for The Secret Garden, Frozen, Star Wars and even, wait for it...Game of Thrones. (I mean, I don't know if your sibling is into that sort of thing...) They also have coloring books based off of famous painters and their works as well as topics such as horses, celtic designs and more. booksamillion.com has a ton of cool coloring books!

Coloring has proved to release stress and to calm the soul, so give it a go. They also prove to inspire creativity and relaxation. These kind of coloring books are called "Art Therapy" I think that's pretty clever, don't you? They're all around $10-15 dollars!

GIFTS FOR A MOM:

SPA SET/WINTER CARE PACKAGE:

Alright, alright, every mom likes slippers, do I have to go any further? I think it's like a mom thing, slippers, and everything. I know by themselves, slippers seem kinda weird. Like slippers? Really?

So, I thought, why not buy a care package for your mom? Include a nice pair of slippers, some fluffy socks, maybe some sort of makeup or face mask and a tube of lotion or lip balm. Just get a medium sized box and put in all sorts of things to survive the winter months, or maybe just a simple little relaxation kit!

You can buy really cheap face masks, cute little socks, and animal shaped lip balms at Forever 21 or forever21.com!

COFFEE

This kinda applies to both moms and dads. Just buy a cute little mug from a store like Target, maybe some tea boxes, some coffee mixes and hot cocoa mixes and just put them in a little box! There you go! You have an instant little coffee/hot drink package for your mom(or dad, or grandparent or anybody else). You can even decorate the box with little snowflakes, maybe tie a ribbon around the mug!

I personally think that this present seems like a whole lot when it's actually only a few things because it's packaged together!

Your coffee/tea does not need to be from Starbucks, it can be from Target, the deli up the street or even Giant!

GIFTS FOR A DAD:

MOVIE PACKAGE:

You've probably heard of this before after watching a video on YouTube, or maybe a different blog post or on Pinterest. What a movie night package is, is a DVD, specifically your gift receiver's favorite movie, a bag of microwave popcorn, some giant candy bars, and some other snacks! There is no limit with a movie night package, you can have two, three, four, five even six DVDs in the package, maybe even center them around Christmas? Or holiday movies!

I like that this gift gives the receiver the ability to take off work, just sit, relax, eat popcorn and watch a movie!

You can buy super cheap movies at Target, and even rent them on Netflix/Red Box for a few days!

A WALLET:

Okay, it may sound kinda weird, but wallets are all the rage these days! You can find them for super cheap on places like forever21.com, or even your local grocery store! Your dad needs somewhere to put money in, so why not a super fancy or super nice wallet?

Alrighty then, that's it for this weeks blogpost, and I am really sorry I haven't posted in about two weeks, I've had this blog post planned for a SUPER LONG TIME, and I've been writing it for the past week!

If you need more gift ideas, stay tuned, because I'll be doing another Gift Ideas post on Tuesday! So yeah, thanks for reading,

Sprinkles!
